It is time to give New London’s students autonomy, community, and a superior education. No Child Is A Robot As a resident of this city since 1999 and a mother of two, I have developed an appreciation for New London’s diverse resources, unique character, and thriving communities. As a member of the Board of Education, I will help to build a system of highly-functioning public schools that will benefit today’s students and bolster both the stability and the renaissance of New London. I will work to: Integrate the student body with the local community through service learning projects, apprenticeship, and mentorship programs. Seek funding from the state to “green” the infrastructure of the schools, which will improve student performance and significantly decrease operation costs. Move to a project-based curriculum, which places the students in the driver’s seat of their own educations, and realistically prepares them for work and life after graduation. |
