New London sustainability through a Quality of Life initiative

Who am I?

I am a native New Londoner who grew up on Pequot Avenue and went to public schools here; and now live here with my wife, Cecile. I earned a Bachelors’ degree from Central Connecticut State University, and my MA from New York’s New School University in cognitive science. I then went on to work in various corporate enterprises and am a former executive who has since started up a management consultant firm here in New London. I have taught at the college level, and have been a guest speaker in various forum throughout the country on topics as varied as process management to building communities. I’ve written papers on the latter, and published on the former. I have dedicated myself to the area: working as an educator and mentor in local school systems, a member of the New London Earth Day Organization (NLEDO), founding member of New London’s Network of Spiritual Progressives, Ocean Park Condominium Treasurer, and volunteer for Southeastern CT Hospice.

I recently presented on behalf of NLEDO a resolution to enact a comprehensive New London environmental assessment and improvement initiative. This proposal has been approved and is moving forward.

“New London is a treasure with its diversified culture, history, and geography. With the erosion of our local economy, it will take a new kind of leadership, fresh ideas and thinking to rebuild our New London communities for the 21st Century. And so on that basis, I offer myself for this challenge.”
